Automobiles in German Town Found Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Police Confirm

Officers stated they were contacted by a individual who noticed a automobile in Hanau smeared with reddish fluid

Around fifty vehicles have been smeared with what seems to be human blood in the Germany's town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Cars, building surfaces and postboxes were vandalized, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they announced in a statement.

Officers state they were notified late on Wednesday evening, when a individual observed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored liquid.

The fluid had been applied in the shape of a swastika, they reported.

Officers then found multiple other marked vehicles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.

Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under legislation banning the public display of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement report initial examinations suggest the fluid was most likely blood from a person.

"At present there remains no clue as to its source; officials are currently not cognizant of any physical harm in association with the event," they stated.

Municipal representatives said they were attempting "to unravel the case" and have asked to the public for tips.

A senior official said the attack rendered him speechless and required to be addressed rapidly.

"This event affects the very heart of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the right-wing violent incident in 2020," he posted on a platform, mentioning the death of nine people by a gunman targeting individuals of immigrant origin in February 2020.
